Intentions
The poster was designed to advertise an electronic music night in Salford on the internet and social media, so the goal was to capture eyes, generate interest, and ultimately sell tickets. The design also attempted to embody the feeling of listening to the music that would be played on the night.
Execution
Objekt’s music is known for its high production values and technical expertise. Music like this deserved an equally technicolour poster. Research led to ransom note typography, which was reinterpreted in a contemporary way to create punchy header text. An irridescent central graphic, a sort of energy flash, was used in the centre of the poster to add to this, and rounded shapes filled with bio text gave more insight into the running order for the night.
